Finally, I had the opportunity to introduce some quick intro about the web and some of my concerns, ideas and knowledge to audience of a seminar held at OpenCraft's head quarters.
The atmosphere was, as usual, very friendly and very nice. For those who attended and those whom I was unlucky not to meet I post the seminar summary.

Web Standards Seminar

Keeping yourself moving on is to somehow a tough job. In our dynamic world of developing, you usually find yourslelf in need to keep yourself up-to-date in technologies you master and keep on entering new areas hence technologies.

It's almost a year since I deceided to extend my programming knowledge with something rather than Perl and PHP.

I started with Python. Python was the main programming language in Google, it's a general purpose language unlike PHP. I went on for a while. Things were find but it was never as good as I expect. The language has some pros but also have many cons -just like everything. The point is Python lacks real community unlike what I am used to in PHP. Except Zope, Python has some long way to go through before it's in bar with PHP in terms of user base, written solutions, ease of use, tight integration with major DBMS and Web Servers, etc.

Last week, me, Samy and Shady deceided to go in a trip to Alex since we all have some long vacation.
Before we leave Cairo, I had my toe injuried in a very funny situation, here's what happened:
Mido; Samy's cousin; brought a cage full of turtles and put it on Anwar's car, in the back, when I saw them I just had one idea in mind: I wanna kick this cage!
I tried to do so and managed to rise my leg above the cage and here Samy dropped the cars back door on my leg.
I still can't walk very well...
Stupid huh?
