Living the NOKIA way
I spent this week discovering new services provided by Nokia for their customers. I must say that Nokia is investing a lot in the segment.
1. Web Server:
Back in October 2008, I discovered mymobilesite.net, which is a free service from Nokia that allows you to text your friends, update your contacts and even take photos from your phone camera.
2. Ovi:
Ovi.com is very old news to some but it has your contacts, photos, calendar, and even mail hosted. You sync your phone to Ovi and organize your phone from there. Ovi has a paid service that allows you to share files with your friends.
3. Push mail:
The amazing new service is Nokia Messaging. A free push-mail service from Nokia which turns your GMail IMAP into a push mail service. You can register at http://email.nokia.com and assign up to 10 accounts to be pushed to your device.
4. FriendView:
This service allows you to do microblogging, like Twitter and Jaiku, but the new thing here is that your blogs are geo-tagged so people would know where exactly you're when you post something.
5. MOSH:
Mosh is a great place to download free ringtones, games, wallpapers and all other stuff to your phone.
I believe there're even more services to come. Nokia seems to be determined to put a foot down in the mobile-related services as the biggest player.
