As I stated earlier that I will play with Linode VPS and see how things will go, I started testing their VPS for the past three weeks and the results were amazing. Few amazing things about Linode: * Linode distro wizard deploys you a distro in less than 2 minutes including deleting your old slices, creating new ones and deploying a distro image. * Switching between kernel versions available is a 1 min, two steps action: change the kernel version, reboot. They have kernels from 2.6.16 until as new as 2.6.26 for Debian Etch. * Their community contributions are very useful, I found a thorough Wiki entry about installing Debian Etch on Linode and things went like a charm. * I never needed to ask their support about anything. * The VPS never went down unless I bring it down. * They offer you DNS management that's more than awesome. Reverse DNS record is done through a very simple and straightforward screen in their control panel. * The VPS notifies you when you reach some high usage of CPU, RAM or Disk IO and you can control the threshold. * You can have two your two linodes in the same data center talk to each other without counting against your bandwidth! WOW! Imagine the possibilities here. * You can clone your linodes! I am more than happy with Linode. Thanks Sameer for the recommendation, you deserve the referral points ;).
