Fixing Menu Issues after D5 to D6-RC Migration
I upgraded this blog to Drupal 6 on RC1 and since then my menu system got mad. I had duplicates of admin, admin/build, admin/settings.
I disabled the duplicate entry and kept lagging the fix for this until I found out that new modules display their admin settings links in the wrong place in the menu system.
I wanted to fix this so I took a backup for the database, truncated the menu_links table, ran update.php and chosen the earliest version to upgrade in system.module drop-down.
All menu items are now created fine and things are all OK now.
Thanks for posting this Omar. Simple, and it did not affect my custom menus. - reply
I was a bit worried about all the errors during the update, but it seems to have worked well! Thanks! - reply
Well, it did delete my custom menus, and for some reason when I tried creating primary menu items it created a duplicate menu and never showed the links. - reply
