Two years in OC
Today is March 10, 2008...
It has been two years since I joined OpenCraft...
Excuse me if this post is boring but it's bookmarking an important moment in my life.
Three years ago, I was doing almost the same thing: writing web-based software using PHP and MySQL but things were totally different. The main difference is "OpenCraft".
"See, OpenCraft is not just a job nor is it just a few close friends; it's a state of mind or like I'd rather call it; OpenCraft is an attitude problem. And that, as a concept leaves my rebellious side highly satisfied." I quote this from Zew's post about her first year in OpenCraft because I really feel the same.
OC is truly another home, it's the place I wake up with passion to go to.
OC has started as a culture, probably this is why OC is totally different than anywhere I worked and will ever work: culture. The culture is to be a part of what's going on around us.
We like music? Let's sponsor some music events.
We like Drupal? Let's be part of the community.
We like agile software development? Be part of it.
We wanna having even more fun together? Let's gather after work hours and play some pictionary! :)
See, it's never boring at OC :) There's always something interesting to do. The first item in the list of interesting things is work: working with happy, experienced and fanatic team is what makes the real fun is work.
Mardini, Karim, BooDy, Mai, Zew, Jaz, Rady, Manal, Sameer, Zalewski, Michael, Ali, Dawood, Islam: Thank you all for all the joyful days I spent and still spending at OC...
And that you, whoever is reading is, for taking the time to read and share this moment with me. Thank you.

Yo Omar!

Yes, you can be good, make money and have fun! That's OpenCraft for you, me and our small family!
